Football Expert Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match victorious run was ended by Sunderland before the international hiatus, but can the English top division frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus AI, fans and a variety of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's latest album, the new release, is out on Friday.

Football and Family Life

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "The team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend football team," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for two or three years and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from injury but their offense is now more potent with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

West Ham's sole away victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno was previously that team's manager.

So, what on earth do I predict here - will it be West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their last four games.

A family member told me to get Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great success on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. Brentford will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it in reality turns out to be rather close. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

Fulham have have plenty of quality in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

Their performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of October.

However I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to continue opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's home form, the only team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a poor streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but could they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
