David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

The author

Acclaimed children's author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, the company has said.

A spokesman for the publisher stated: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an investigation into claims about inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.

The company has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies globally in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works in total, encompassing a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

From Screen to Page

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
